Chematur’s (patented pump-nitration) technology for the di-nitration of toluene is a well-proven technology, with more than 10 plants built. Additionally, Chematur possesses extensive experience in the tri-nitration of toluene, which is a slightly different yet related technology.

Chematur’s pump-nitration technology operates at a point where energy needs to be added (by pumping) for the reaction to continue, making it inherently stable. The system efficiently removes excessive heat through inline coolers. A state-of-the-art control system continuously monitors all important parameters, and process interlocks are in place to shut off the process if any deviations are detected. As a result, this technology is regarded as the safest nitration technology available on the market.
