Chematur Engineering AB (CEAB) is based in Karlskoga, Sweden and traces its roots back to Alfred Nobel’s era, when he initiated chemical manufacturing in Karlskoga in 1894. With over a century of experience in Nitration, Hydrogenation, and Phosgenation, CEAB leverages advanced pilot plants and analytical laboratory equipment to offer industry leaders cutting-edge technologies in Isocyanates, Nitro Aromatics, Hydrogen Peroxide, Propylene oxide, Caprolactam, Biochemicals, and Supercritical CO₂
We supply technologies for major polyurethane chemicals such as TDI, TDA, DNT, Aniline, DNB, MPDA, and stand-alone Phosgene synthesis as well as efficient waste pre-treatment and by-product recycling subsystems.
CEAB also provides a well proven Hydrogen Peroxide (HP) slurry technology and can offer technology for different product grades, such as chemical, industrial, food grade as well as electronic grade. We even offer our Propylene Oxide (HPPO) and Caprolactam (CPL) technologies, and the chemicals are important intermediate chemicals in production of polyurethane, nylon-6 fibers, and resins.
With the awareness of the impacts of climate change and depletion of natural resources, CEAB has contributed to provide the industry with technologies for full chain of bio-chemicals such as Ethanol, Bio-Ethylene, Acetaldehyde, Acetic Acid, Acetic Anhydride and Ethyl Acetate. CEAB provides even biomass-based green H₂ technology and the hydrogen is an on-demand raw material with a variety of applications including HP and HPPO, in which are major parts of CEAB technology portfolio.
Our supercritical CO₂ technology can be used both continuously and batch-wise for Extraction of high-quality nutraceutical flavor and fragrances, and for Degreasing and Debinding in the Powder Injected Molding industry.
At Chematur, our dedicated expert team is committed to providing exceptional support to our clients through a comprehensive range of services and driving innovation within the industry. Our strength lies in offering tailored solutions for each technology, as well as troubleshooting support for our customers. As of 2020, we have successfully delivered over 800 chemical plants worldwide, leveraging our proprietary technologies, and have received excellent feedback from our customers.
We shall always focus on satisfying our customers. From the first contact to the taking over point. Thereafter to be at our customers service for debottlenecking, revamping, extensions or any matters.
Our business idea is to offer our proprietary technologies to the chemical industry globally, from licensing to EPC undertakings, according to our clients needs.
Continue to act as an independent engineering partner to our clients and always strive to remain being a high end supplier of technologies, keeping our clients in the forefront.
The future and our children demand long-term sustainable development. We shall seek to reuse/recycle by-products to the greatest extent possible. At every step, we shall aim to avoid the loss and waste of resources.
Acting in a complex chemical area requires responsibility. Highest possible safety in every situation and design, shall be aimed for. Furthermore all our actions and decisions shall be such that we can be proud of them. Good morals and ethics shall permeate all handlings of Chematur.
Our name has been changed through the history, starting as AB Bofors Nobel Chematur and then becoming Nobel Chematur AB. In 1992 we became Chematur Engineeing AB, which has been our name since then.
Over the years, we have been constantly enhancing our technological capabilities. In response to customer needs and market trends, we have introduced innovative technologies like MPDA, ADN, and DCPI. As of 2020, we have successfully delivered more than 800 plants leveraging our proprietary technologies.
In the year 2000, we introduced the technology of supercritical carbon dioxide. Subsequently, in 2009, we established The Chematur Engineering Technology Centre, which is equipped with cutting-edge laboratories and pilot plant units to facilitate our in-house research and development efforts, as well as to provide support to our clients. In 2010, we successfully delivered our first E2E commercial plant, and in 2016, we achieved another milestone by delivering our first MDI plant.
In the early 1990s, Chematur Engineering acquired and extensively enhanced a cutting-edge hydrogen peroxide and aniline technology. Shortly thereafter we licensed our first slurry HP plant, which was successfully commissioned in 1995.
In 1986, Isocyanate was added to our technology portfolio, Another important activity is ethanol and ethanol derivatives. We are working in this field through our Biostil ® 2000 process. One of our important ethanol derivatives is bioethylene.
During the years, we have acquired new technologies and developed existing process technologies from the original explosives and propellant processes dating from the late 19th century into other areas.
In the 1930s a separate department within AB Bofors was created to take care of the chemical export business. At that time we also delivered our first export project.
Our history goes back all the way to Alfred Nobel and the heritage of his achievements. Alfred Nobel started the chemical industry in Karlskoga (Bofors) year 1894.
